Hi Brian, here's the rundown of the situation we're trying to solve:

  • Our main website (portlanddsa.org) is running on an old version of WordPress (WordPress 5.7.12) and has an old, out of date look.
  • The server is being hosted by DigitalOcean and we're paying $91/mo and the admin is no longer with the chapter
  • We had a lot of functionality that was for the purposes of having a member portal but the script broke and we don't have anyone in the chapter who had the technical acumen in order to fix the script
  • Neither myself nor my other Communications Co-Chair Gabe know how to transfer the url/domain to a new website platform

We'd ideally have a newer website that's easier to edit, looks a bit more modern and ideally at a lesser cost. Can the NTC help us with this?

DigitalOcean is treasurer@portlanddsa.org and Maxiscool17#? / for the WordPress I can create a new Administrator account. Gabe and I have our own personal email associated with our admin accounts.

Handed off development of Portland chapter site to Zoe Spellman zoopgoop@goopcave.net. That was on April 9th. Today I checked in and notified her that the IP address ofportland.chapters.dsausa.org is 147.182.166.157. And to change portlanddsa.org is in her control.
